  • Welcome

    Dear Parent/Carer,

On behalf of myself as the Headteacher, the Governors, staff and pupils of Coedpenmaen Primary School I would like to welcome you to our school.

    Our motto is:

‘Together we care, together we learn, together we achieve.

Gyda’n gilydd rydym yn gofalu, dysgu a chyflawni.’

Our motto underpins our commitment to working together to achieve the best education for our pupils.

Our school takes great pride in our Welsh roots, the locality heavily influences aspects of our teaching and learning at Coedpenmaen. We pride ourselves on building strong links with the local community.  We build positive relationships with our families and have an ‘open-door’ policy at our school where families can approach all staff members leading to a successful partnership.  Strong relationships between home and school are extremely important, we ask all parents to sign our Home/school agreement which outlines how we work in partnership together.  We believe that support from home greatly enhances children’s learning at school, helping to develop perseverance, responsibility and self-discipline.

We hope that this prospectus will provide you with a flavour of our school and begin to give you the information you need in making the crucial decision about your child’s schooling.

We are fully committed to the ambition of the Curriculum for Wales, for our children to be:

The Coedpenmaen curriculum aims to inspire and enrich children’s learning experiences, we launch our curriculum themes through immersion activities and children are encouraged to take ownership of their learning journey, explore the curriculum and widen their knowledge and skills.

Our aim is that your child's time at school will be a happy time where teachers and learners share a mutual respect for each other.  Where they will feel safe, motivated and inspired to learn, understand and accept our differences and make positive choices in terms of their Health and Wellbeing.  We aim to foster a positive relationship with the local and wider community to support our learners to become active citizens within a diverse world whilst respecting the needs and rights of others.

I look forward to working with you.

    Miss Arianne Ansell-Jones
